About a week ago I started to have heart palpitations and chest pressure. I didn’t think it was much until the next day it happened again. The following day was better but the day after that was not good so I went to the urgent care. They did an EKG and it was fine. They told me to go to my family doctor and she thought it was from having caffeine. I choose to believe she is right. I continue to have some symptoms but this week has been full of stressful situations. Way more than I usually go through in a year. But, I don’t think I was abiding too well. I was drawn to know more about how to abide and what the scripture meant about abiding in Him and if we do that we can ask for anything and it will be done.

In John 15 it talks about how He is the vine and the Father is the vinedresser. Jesus is the vine who provides the nourishment the branch needs to produce the fruit. The Father is the one who brings the pruning which enables the fruit to come forth. This is done very carefully. I believe grape plants take up to two years to produce fruit. In that time the vinedresser is taking careful care to cut back at the right timing what won’t help the grapes to come forth or the branches to bear fruit.

The next scripture John 15:3 You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.

At first I didn’t understand why He would put John 15:3 where He placed it in that group of scripture and I am still searching for more so if you have any revelation please share!  But in John 14:27 it says peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you, not as the world gives do I give to you, do not let your hearts be troubled, nor let it be fearful.

This is just one of the scriptures that He spoke that helps prune off things that are not of Him. The word clean in John 15:3 means pruned like a branch.

John 15:4 Abide in me, and I in you.

to remain, abide
in reference to place
to sojourn, tarry
not to depart
to continue to be present
to be held, kept, continually
in reference to time
to continue to be, not to perish, to last, endure
of persons, to survive, live
in reference to state or condition

to remain as one, not to become another or different
to wait for, await one – Blue Letter Bible

As I read this definition in the use of Abide here in John 15 wow, to be held, kept, continually. This speaks so beautifully to me. He literally says He holds us and keeps us CONTINUALLY.

So how can we abide in Him? We continue to be present with Him. We stay. Endure, live, not perish. We allow ourselves to be held, continually while going through. To remain as one with Him. Not to allow ourselves to become something we are not. Don’t allow your thoughts of something that is not who you really are creep in.

To wait for Him.

This past week wondering if I was seriously going to have to start preparing if I was going to have a heart attack. I know that sounds extreme but that is what it felt like for 4 days. But, even though I had fear of what might happen and not knowing what is happening I still kept going and doing what I needed to do trusting I would be ok. This is a true breakthrough for me as in the past I would have been too afraid to keep going.

Even though we don’t know why or how or what is to come we abide in Him. We stay in seeking His heart. We choose to stay with Him and rest in His arms of being held. We choose to not become someone we are not while we go through things. We stay and remain one in HIm.

Yesterday, I didn’t do so well with this as our dryer and washer died and it looks like I have been scammed by a company for more than $500.00. I was over having things happen to me and I caved. I think this is ok to come to a realization that we can’t do things without Him and question Him as to what is going on. We then have to rely on Him. But, if we could learn to abide in Him when things seem so out of control I think we would have a lot less stress and much more peace.

I encourage you to abide in Him now and allow Him to bring you rest. I don’t know your situation but I do know He wants to abide in you not just have us to abide in Him as it says, Abide in me and I in you. That is so beautiful! This brings fruit. From relationship.

If we abide in Him we can ask what ever we wish and it will be done for us. John 15:7. What does this mean? I believe that if we are abiding in Him and we ask what we wish what we are asking is so in line with His will that He says yes because our hearts are already alined with His.

I so love John 14 and 15. It is hard to take when you are going through so much but it is such a beautiful picture of the Father’s love for us!
